Murual Review

1. What theme could you use here at school to make your own mural that tells a unique Akins story? Be specific. Explain what subjects you will include in your mural.

We could use things that interest the students here at Akins. Rather it's phones, sports, or just their style.

2. Why is this theme worth devoting time time and effort to capture? Why would other students care about this theme?
It's important because kids would take interest because it concerns them. Usually if you're involved in the project you'll take the time to pay attention.

3. What are the advantages and disadvantages to using a phone camera to do this project?
disadvantage is maybe not good enough quality. Advantage, is it's easier to handle.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages to using an SLR camera to do this project?
WAY better quality. Focus is 10x better!

5. Should we use phones or SLR cameras for this project? Why?
Maybe we should use both to get both perspectives.  We could be able to see the picture from different lens.

Purpose to photography: Africa

This photo is my favorite because I think cheetahs are beautiful. The wild cat looks like it's almost posing. This is an example of rule of thirds. I chose The rule of thirds because the cheetah's head is angled and in the corner perfectly.

a.     What kind of camera did he use?

-He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses

b.     What is his reason for taking the photos?

 -To memorialize the vanishing natural grandeur of East Africa.

c.     What is his hope by taking these types of photos?

-Showing the animals simply in the state of being.

d.     Find something he has to say about Africa and post the quote on your blog

Elements of Art and Principles of Design Example

Line: marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.

Shape:formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet

Color: primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary, relationships between complementary colors across from each other.

Value : refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between.  Value contrasts help us to see and understand a two-dimensional work of art.

Form : describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.

Texture:How a picture looks it feels relationships between complementary colors across from each other.

Space: the background behind the object

Balance: unified

Contrast: elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extremely light and dark values.

Emphasis: focal area where it focuses on

Movement: lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area.

Pattern: same shapes or elements are repeated again and again.

Rhythm: Repetition

Unity : how the picture looks like a whole .

I think this guy just either committed a crime and set things on fire and ran. OR, he's running FROM the fire. Either to save someone or save himself.

New 6 weeks

This six weeks I want to stay on top of my grades, I did last six weeks and I want to continue that. I got to believe in myself more! I need more sleep in my life too.

In this class I want to take more pictures. :)

Selfie quick write

I think this picture is interesting, sort of read. In my religion it's disrespectful to use a phone during church or praying. Maybe the girl is not taking a selfie, I'm not sure.
